Jungkook had expressed his admiration for K-pop star and actress IU several times and revealed that IU is his ideal type.
In an interview, Jungkook revealed that he performed IU's debut song, 'Lost Child', at Superstar K's audition but did not clear the audition. He has been IU's fanboy since his teenage years and admires her as a singer and actress.
Jungkook also said that he spent his hard-earned money to buy IU's album when he was not a K-pop star.
The 'Dreamers' singer recently attended IU's concert in Seoul, South Korea and was also present at the premiere of IU and Park Seo Joon's film 'Dream'.
On the work front, Jungkook is working on his solo album and an official announcement will be made soon. As per recent reports, Jungkook's album will have a pop feel with RnB added to it. Music critic Kim Young Dae got a chance to pre-listen to a few songs from Jungkook’s upcoming album and he was all praise for Jungkook's talent.
He said that Jungkook's vocal tone is one of the ‘trendiest’ among the BTS members and this is something he sees in the Top 40 hits in the US. He further revealed that Jungkook's were akin to those of American pop stars that are hot and popular.
According to a report by Sports Chosun, as cited by Soompi, Jungkook is preparing to release his new solo album on July 14. Soompi later shared a statement from BigHit, stating, "We will provide an official announcement once the release schedule for Jungkook's solo album has been confirmed."
Jungkook recently created the record for the fastest K-pop soloist to reach 1 Billion streams on Spotify. According to Guinness World Records, he made this record on March 27, 2023, with three songs under his credits including ‘Stay Alive’, ‘Left and Right’ (with Charlie Puth, plus two remixes and one instrumental version of the track) and ‘Dreamers’ (the 2022 FIFA World Cup). He made this record within 409 days.
