Music is mastered and audio devices are tuned by people with "golden ears", but not for users of the "golden age". Can this be corrected by the device software? To some degree, yes. Alango Technologies is offerring several technologies that can help the elderly or hard of hearing fully enjoy audio content.1.Sound personalization for head-worn devices, speakers, televisions and even cars.2.SonicVibrance, which dynamically, depending on the audio content, changes the balance between frequencies and makes the audio content “brighter” based on the user’s preferences.https://lnkd.in/dJzxZbDb3.VoiceFirst, which reduces background sound and enhances dialog in movies, TV shows and sports translations.https://lnkd.in/d8QHMg64.Wide dynamic range multichannel compression that reduces the effect of upward spread of masking of speech frequencies caused by excessive low frequencies.https://lnkd.in/dZp-kNDKAs the tech-savvy generation ages, more and more people are able to tune their devices themselves if they have efficient and intuitive tuning tools. As the cited article shows, people need this. Let’s give them the tools.#hearing #hearingloss #hearingaids #hearingaids #music #audiology #audio #headsets #headphones #sound #loudspeakers #caraudio #wellbeing #neuroscience

Protecting Your Hearing in a Loud World: Insights from a Seasoned DJ As a hearing health advocate, a researcher and a passionate professional DJ who has spent countless hours immersed in the vibrant music scene, I've come to realize the profound importance of safeguarding our hearing. Through my own experiences as a DJ, I've witnessed firsthand the potential impact of excessive sound exposure on our auditory health. This is why I'm thrilled to share the publication of our latest research paper with Jeremy Marozeau, "Reducing Preferred Listening Levels in Headphones," in the prestigious Journal of the Acoustical Society of America (JASA). This work features the promising technique of employing audio tactile feedback to enhance the perceived loudness of headphones, implying that this observation could be of potential use for professionals in noisy environments. The potential benefits of this approach extend beyond individual protection, encompassing broader advancements in hearing health and listening comfort. My personal connection to this topic stems from a subtle yet noticeable hearing loss in my left ear, after spending hours working in environments with loud music. This experience has fueled my dedication to explore innovative solutions that promote hearing preservation, particularly among individuals exposed to amplified sound environments.I encourage you to delve into the intricacies of our research and discover the potential of audiotactile feedback to revolutionize the way we interact with our audio devices. Together, we can safeguard our hearing and continue to enjoy the world of sound in a responsible and sustainable manner.#JASA #acoustics #hearinghealth #headphones #DJlife #hearingconservationFind out more by clicking the link here:

New open-access publication from about a study on hearing loss prevention via a multisensory wearable:“Hearing loss prevention at loud music events via real-time visuo-haptic feedback”, Journal on Multimodal User Interfaceshttps://lnkd.in/d-kqYiPcThe perceived usefulness of the proposed device was highly dependent on participants’ subjective approach to the topic of hearing risks at loud music events as well as their willingness to take action regarding its prevention. Ultimately, our study shows how technology, no matter how effective, may not be able to cope with these kinds of cultural issues concerning hearing loss prevention. Educational strategies may represent a more effective solution to the real problem of changing people’s attitudes and motivations to want to protect their hearing.#hearing #hearinglossprevention
