Although it came to the crowded streaming scene late, Disney+ — the premium streaming service from the House of Mouse — quickly distinguished itself from the herd to become a must-have subscription for fans of all things Disney, Marvel, and Star Wars. And now, with things opening back up and movies hitting theaters again, members can take advantage of Disney+ Premier Access, which allows viewers to stream new films like Cruella and Black Widowright from home. Here’s how much it’ll cost you.
A standard Disney+ subscription costs just $80 per year or $8 per month (which comes to $96 per year before taxes) if you prefer a more flexible monthly plan, which is a pretty solid value considering that this premium streaming service gets you access to the entire catalog of Disney, Pixar, Marvel, and Star Wars content, among more. Disney+ Premier Access isn’t an add-on to your monthly or yearly subscription, however; instead, it’s a one-time $30 fee that gives you early access to new movie releases before they’re available to all subscribers.

Note that Premier Access is only available to those with a Disney+ subscription.
Disney+ by itself rings in at $80 per year or $8 per month, but the better value is the Disney Bundle. Signing up for the Disney Bundle gets you Disney+ along with ESPN+ and basic Hulufor just $14 per month, saving you 25% on the combined price of these three services. If you already have one or two of these, you can still upgrade to the bundle and take advantage of the discount. After that, pre-ordering a new film with Disney Premier Access costs $30.

Salem’s Lot director reveals the Stephen King adaptation was originally much longer
There was a lot of hype surrounding Salem's Lot heading into its long-awaited streaming premiere in early October. The Gary Dauberman-directed adaptation of Stephen King's beloved 1975 novel originally finished filming in the summer of 2022, but then it was seemingly put on the shelf for an indefinite amount of time by Warner Bros. Pictures. King himself, however, helped bring attention back to the project in February when he tweeted his positive thoughts about it and expressed his confusion over its behind-the-scenes delays. Shortly afterward, WB announcedit would be releasing Salem's Lot as a Max exclusive.
King's support of the film did a lot to bolster the early word-of-mouth surrounding it, but that didn't stop Salem's Lot from being welcomed with mostly mixed reviews when it premiered on October 3. The film was notably criticized for its rushed retelling of King's iconic vampire story and its inability to fully flesh out its characters. Some, consequently, speculated that the movie's biggest problems may have been due to studio interference and corporate-mandated cuts.
